Citizen Resolution
Whereas, C-SPAN Networks is a private, nonprofit service with live, commercial-free television coverage of the U.S. House, U.S. Senate, and congressional committee meetings;
Whereas, C-SPAN is a free service;
Whereas, C-SPAN3 is the only channel showing uninterrupted and unedited coverage of congressional committee meetings;
Whereas, the laws of the United States are introduced, debated, amended and passed in congressional committee meetings;
Whereas, increasing access to the legislative process will yield positive public policy outcomes;
Whereas, the founding fathers believed the job of the citizen is to run the country;
We, the undersigned –
RESOLVED, that C-SPAN3 improves access to the legislative process and creates more favorable public policy outcomes. In the heat of this important Presidential election, we urge New Hampshire cable providers to include the channel with its basic service package.
